A few weeks ago, I started to notice that my skin was breaking out a bunch. I'm not sure if it was from stress, poor eating habits, allergy shots, or just being a teenager. It was making me really uncomfortable being around people or in pictures and I didn't know how to solve it! To clarify (no pun intended), I had clusters of pimples in between my eyebrows and one big Rudolph-like under the skin pimple on my nose.
To clear up the bump on my nose I used Prid's Drawing Salve. This is pretty much my holy grail product when it comes to larger breakouts, and I definitely notice a difference when I use this product. I think to the key to clearing up this kind of breakout is to be persistent with treatment and avoid touching it. I always use a q-tip when applying product so that I don't get dirt and oils from my skin on the spot. These pimples can also get quite large and red so I use ice packs to reduce swelling.
To clear up the breakouts in between my brows I did a combination of things. I used my favorite spot treatment, which is Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment as well as changed my face wash routine. As much as I love using my favorite face wash, sometimes it's best to let your skin rest from chemical and go natural. While I was trying to clear up my skin I used Dove soap to wash my face. I would remove my eye makeup as normal, but I replaced my normal routine of face wash and toner with Dove's sensitive skin bar soap. I loved the way this felt on my skin because it lathers so well and it's super moisturizing. Because I do have dry skin, I kept using my moisturizer which is Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer but I reduced use to 1x a day.
It's been about a week since I started this new regimen and my skin is doing pretty well. I have no new spots, and I've been using Ambi Fade Cream to clear up any dark spots or scars on my face. I'll most likely continue this routine throughout spring and see how my skin is doing. I'll be sure to keep you all posted!
I hope you enjoyed this post and it helped anyone who is struggling with acne. Stay tuned, xo Lauren.
